About Us
GROWING OUR HERITAGE
We are a group of volunteers, restoring and preserving the Orchard on the river flat at the Werribee Park Mansion grounds from the 1870’s.
FRIDAYS ARE VOLUNTEER DAY
We meet each Friday to tend the trees in the orchard and the nursery to carry out a whole range of tasks to care for the trees under our care. We welcome people interested in rare and heritage fruit trees that want to learn how to care for their own trees and join us in preserving these trees whilst learning at the same time. Joining is free and the benefits are many. Not least of which tasting fruit when we pick, but also taking home some fruit for your efforts. FRUIT TREE SALES AND BUDWOOD/SCION
In order for us to preserve and grow our heritage, we propagate new trees from the ones in the orchard, and then make them available for sale. We are very keen to get these wonderful old varieties back into circulation so they are never forgotten. We also cut budwood from our stone fruit trees, and scion from the rest to sell as well so that you can add to the varieties you have at home or for the fruit tree enthusiast to add to their collection.
